Food-skils project-Summary of de Project

The main goal of FOODSKILLS is to adapt a recognition methodology of the non formal and informal learning in the training strategies of the food sector in the European Union, taking as a main reference the results of the Euromeat project (ES/05/C/F/RF-80900) and the EU tools for the recognition and transparency of the qualifications (EQF, Europass, ECVET).

The specific aims are:

  • To make a socio-labour analysis and to elaborate a map of competences based on the learning outcomes.
  • To adapt a methodology of evaluation, recognition and accreditation of qualifications, acquired by non formal and informal learning, adapted to EQF, Europass and ECVET.
  • To make an e-learning proposal, addressed to Public Administrations, companies, training centres and social agents, in order to incorporate the recognition of non formal and informal learning in the training strategy of this sector in each country.
  • To elaborate and to disseminate a guide for the transparency of qualifications in the food sector in the EU.

Participant countries are Germany, Bulgaria, France, Spain and Italy, which are relevant countries for the development of the food industry in the EU. The association is composed by training centres (IFES, bfw), social agents (FTA-UGT), universities (CERES), technological provider of VET (Formación 2020) and consultants (Europroject, Euroquality). Indirect collaborators are Public Administrations (INCUAL), University of Barcelona (UAB-CIFO), the European Federation of Food Trade Unions (EFFAT).

The main results will be:

  • National and international reports with the proposal of a methodology of recognition, evaluation and accreditation of non formal and informal learning.
  • Design of a training action, addressed to the training responsibles, in order to incorporate the recognition methodology in the training strategy of the sector.
  • To draw up a guide for the recognition of non formal training in this sector.
  • Evaluation and dissemination of the results by all partners.

The expected impact is to design a methodology for the recognition of non formal and informal learning linked to training; increasing of the qualification level of the workers in this sector; increasing of mobility; bigger transparency of the labour market.
